Saipem contracted Fabcon to configure two heavy cargo vessels for the Courseulles-sur-Mer Offshore Wind Farm Project. The DONGBANG GIANT No.6 and MV Hanjin Leader were equipped with welded steel structures on their decks to accommodate monopiles and transition pieces, respectively. Fabrication was carried out across two facilities in the UAE and was loaded onto the vessels using hydraulic trailers and a 400-ton crawler crane from Fabcon’s Heavy Engineering facility at RAK Maritime City. Despite encountering various obstacles, such as unexpected deck level differences, Fabcon worked tirelessly day and night to complete the project successfully within the tight schedule.
