Project: Ras Lanuf Refinery – Desalination Plant, Libya
With the invaluable support of the Entropie/Veolia team, Fabcon successfully completed the fabrication and assembly of two MED units involving Evaporators and the associated eqpt like Condensers, Pre-Heaters, Ejectors, Thermo-Compressors, Steam Generators etc. As usual the work was completed on schedule to the complete satisfaction of the customer. The fabrication of these pressure vessels involved Super Duplex steels that required unique preparation and welding techniques. Evaporators themselves have complex internal arrangements including close to eighty thousand of titanium tubes, to evaporate and condense fresh water from sea water, through the utilization of spent steam from the associated power plant.
